These Turkeys are Stuffed!
This Thanksgiving we are grateful that Capitol media are reporting the budget turkey is cooked—unfortunately for Pennsylvanians, for five long months we have all endured a front row view of the making of this budget. Some of which, we served up to you via this newsletter and most of which was unappetizing to put it mildly.
So, today the table is set and on the budget menu: a massive new investment in K-12 education funding, finally a fair funding formula, new special education dollars and a serious investment in publicly funded pre-K.
We feel a little like we’re noshing at the Capitol Grille after they made us boil the lobster, peel the potatoes and clean the dishes before we could dig in.
Nobody ever wants to see the sausage being made, just enjoy the finished product. We still don’t know all of the details, but we are licking our chops with excitement that it finally smells like it’s done.
